Unconventional Wisdom

I wish that I had some webspace and I had started my original blog in WordPress. With WordPress I can play with some applications that would enhance my blog. It can be easier to post podcasts, videos from YouTube and so on and so forth with plugins. WordPress is an application in and of itself where I can add things to it.

Blogger is a great service but it only allows you to do so much. WordPress you can treat much like a webforum where you can banis people who refuses to play nice. Blogger at worst will require you to moderate comments and those you don’t want posting can post again under another name. And just like a webforum WordPress even allows you to ban IPs.

 Blogger is great but in some respects WordPress is superior. Blogger is a great way to start don’t get me wrong but if you’re serious about blogging and even having your own website, WordPress is the way to go.

BTW, I’ve got one plugin already good to go in the left-hand column. I put a YouTube Widget there although I’m still looking for good video widgets out there. I’m going to add another today where I hope it would make it easier for me to post videos in blog posts.

Of course this won’t be the end of me continuing to find some nifty plugins to use at this place.

You can see this blog at uppity.refugeecamp.us. All I had to do was delete the index.html file. And here I am. Now I can continue to play with wordpress here.

Blogger archives have been integrated into my wordpress, but I still have some work to do. Alright then.

I got my WordPress Blog back up at a different address. I would like to post any new updates there. Eventually I can point the address to that blog to this blog’s address. Stay Tuned.

I have some experience with uplaoding a blog onto a dedicated webserver. I did it with Blogger and I did it now with WordPress ware. I can do that and set up WordPress. I’m really impressed with myself now.

Still can’t get WordPress up over here. I got the info I need but I don’t know. See WordPress is a lot more work than I wanted to do. I might figure this out yet, but perhaps I need to just stick wtih the Blogger platform.
